Tips for Choosing a Topic

If You are Attempting this Week’s Make Money – Read This

Choosing a topic is something that you can agonize over for hours.

Today we’re going to take a look at some tips that can get you up and running in under an hour.

1.  Choose something that you have some interest in.  If you hate sushi, the thought of writing 10 articles on the topic may make you feel a little “green” – that means you’re going to avoid it!

2.  Remember you don’t have to be an expert on the topic, with the Internet for research, you’ll probably find more information than you need to write your article.

Example Time:  I write anywhere from 10-20 articles a week on business topics.  Writing 10 more isn’t going to be any more fun for me than it is for you!  So to give myself a break, I’m combining an interest I have that I haven’t been able to spend a lot of time on:  Gardening.

It doesn’t matter what topic you choose from trains to felines to fashion, the goal is to pick a general topic that you can write 10 articles about.

3. Search Keywords for Sub-topics, Each Subtopic will be an article.  To find a list of keywords you can use the Google Adsense Keyword Tool.  Click Here!

Select the descriptive word or phrases button, enter the general topic in the middle section, enter the test word and click Get Keyword Ideas.  There are two sections of keywords to choose from all related to your general topic.

4.  Use your imagination.  Pick 10 sub-topics that you are interested in writing an article about – don’t be afraid to pick sub-topics that aren’t on the list, these are you articles!

5.  Use the Internet for a resource, but be careful that you are not just copying someone else’s article, you want to find your own take on each sub-topic.

Example:  My first sub-topic is Vegetable Garden.  To make it my article, My title is “Your Vegetable Garden a Family Activity” and I am including information that will make it a family-friendly activity.

6.  Plan Your Article before you write.  List out important facts that you don’t want to leave out and any special information that will make the article uniquely your own.

7.  Write your article.  Most articles average between 350 – 700 words your first or “rough” draft should be an outpouring of what you want to say organized into paragraphs.  Refine it in the second draft, correcting spelling and style errors – the first draft is to get the words out.

8.  Formatting for an article is usually up to the writer, but her are some general tips:

  • Center Your Title
  • Don’t Indent for paragraphs
  • Single space with an extra return (enter) at the end of each paragraph
  • Use Headers and bullet points to draw your reader to important information.
  • Don’t enter a byline if you are going to use the article as PLR
  • Type font size should be 12 and in a readable font (I suggest Arial, Verdana or Georgia)

9. One last tip learned from harsh experience – Save Your Document Often!  Power surges, spilled coffee and kicked cords can result in the loss of an entire document if you don’t take the time to save it.

Keep on Writing until you have all 10 articles and you have your First PLR pack ready to go!

Make Money Idea #2

Here’s another Money Making Idea to try out!

There’s a lot of interest on ideas of how to make money on the Internet, but unfortunately, not a lot of help that doesn’t come without a price-tag.

Today we’re going to look at another method that you can use and break it down into steps.

*Disclaimer – I can’t guarantee that you will make money or if you do how much it will be.  Individual results will vary, but since this  advice has no cost and there will be no cost involved with using it, you can try it if you like!

Become a Digital Photographer

You will need a digital camera and the ability to upload your pictures.

Step 1:  Using Google.com search for stock photo companies and sign up, this is usually free and you are considered a free-lance photographer.  Read the terms and conditions to select the one that best fits your needs.  (Some pay on a commission basis – i.e. each time your photo is downloaded and other’s pay a flat fee for each accepted submission.)

Step 2:  With your digital camera, start taking pictures.  Avoid photographing people’s faces unless you have a signed model’s release.

Step 3:  Submit/Upload your photographs to the stock photo company’s site and get paid.

You control your future, how much or how little you profit will depend on you!

Lights…Camera…Action

Do You Know what is Holding Your Business Back?

Less than 10% of businesses last 5 Years!  There’s a frightening fact from the Small Business Administration.  Many fail long before then.

Are you a new business owner?  Do you have a vision?

What are you doing to make it come true?

Lack of Action keeps many small businesses small!

If you have a plan, don’t let fear of either failure or success hold you back.  Believe it or not it is fear that holds many people back from achieving their goals.  Human beings like to be in their comfort zone.  Leaving it makes them feel scared and vulnerable.

It is easier to dream about success than it is to make it happen.

We can all describe our dream car or home or vacation, but how many people can actually sit down and map out a plan to make them a reality?

If you want your business to succeed, you have to make it happen.  One step at a time, until the success you desire is yours.

Every day you should do something that will move your business one step closer to your ultimate goal.

If you have an idea – don’t talk about it…put it into action.

So what if some of your ideas fail?  You’ve learned something just by the efforts you put into it.  Take what you learned and move on to the next idea.

Take Action…be the leader of the pack, not a member of the pack!

To Automate or Not to Automate…

Coins

The question that Internet Businesses must answer.

How and when should you automate your business?

Every business is different and the need to automate simple tasks will vary depending on your business needs.  You can take payments 24 hours a day, track and measure your business statistics, build a mailing list and deliver content with the push of a button.

These three tools can simplify a business owner’s day.

E-mail Auto-responders

Tracking software

Payment Processors

The Auto-responder is a tool that many Internet Marketers rely upon.  Not only can you capture your visitor contact information by adding a small script to your web page, you can also set it up to send out messages at a pre-determined time.  Affiliate Funnels, E-mail courses and E-zines become a snap when you are able to contact the entire group by only writing your copy once.

The con to this type of automation is that it removes the human element from the equation.  In a recent online transaction, I sent 7 e-mails to an automated support line and received 0 replies from a human being.  (Needless to say, I requested a refund.)

Tracking Software is a great way to monitor the traffic and opt-in statistics from your website.  This allows the business owner to make changes to their site with an eye to improving their results.  Small changes like the design of a web button or the color of a background can impact a web site’s performance and tracking will determine what works best for each company.  Some software tracks results on an hourly basis, making improvements very time effective.

Payment Processors allow your visitors to make a purchase whether, you, the business owner are online or not.  The Internet never closes, it is 24/7/365.  Some digital products and e-books can be downloaded immediately with no human interaction at all.

The con to this type of automation is that most payment processors charge a fee.  This can be a percentage or a set amount.  Each sale that is made is reduced by the amount of the associated fees.

Automation can free up a business owner to manage their business.

Like all tools, they are only as good as the use to which they are put.  Use your tools to build your business not as a wall to keep your customers away!

When You Start a Business at Home…

Starting a business can be an exciting time.

Working from home can be one of the most satisfying businesses to start.  You find yourself in charge of yourself in way that many of us haven’t been for years.

You decide what time you wake up.

You decide when to start working.

You decide your own level of success!

Did You know 95% of Small Businesses fail to last 5 Years?

If you want your business to last you need to plan for it.  Here are 7 Tips that can help you build a business that will last and continue to provide an income.

Tip #1.  Have a Business Plan – Success that is lasting is not something that you can just wing.

Tip#2.  Start Small – Do as much of the work as you can until your business makes enough to pay for outsource labor such as writers and programmers.  Be stingy with your money until you have enough to pay for your business expenses.

Tip#3.  Add new streams of revenue only when the first is going strong.  If you dilute your efforts, your results will reflect this.

Tip#4.  Don’t undercharge.  It may be easier to make 10 $1 dollar sales, but your income will suffer if you don’t keep a solid infusion of larger sales coming in.

Tip#5.  When you can, pay yourself, this will help you keep personal and business finances separate.

Tip#6.  Brand your company name as well as your product, you may find that new business will find you if you are clear about what you offer.

Tip#7.  Don’t flog a product that doesn’t produce – it is your business and it is important that you make the necessary decisions about the products that you are promoting.  If it takes up the majority of your resources, then it should bring in profit.

To Your Success!

So You Want to Work From Home

Living The Dream…Working From Home!

Working from home used to be just stay at home moms trying to make a little extra money to supplement the family income.

Stuffing envelopes, filling out surveys and other repetitive tasks that could be done while watching small children were the order of the day.

In the 21st Century goals have changed.

Where once making an extra hundred dollars a week was enough, people are now trying to make enough to replace a full-time income.

Freelance work, that can be done from home, product creation and affiliate marketing have taken their place as the most popular forms of home work.

  • Freelance work usually requires specialized skills and is becoming one of the most competitive on-line markets.  People from all around the world compete for each job.
  • Product creation requires both skill and dedication.  You must create something that people want to buy and then promote it.
  • Affiliate Marketing has become competitive as well, with thousands of people promoting the same products and services.

To succeed, you need to stand out from the crowd.

You have to learn to think outside of the box.  Instead of looking at each job or product as the whole of your business, you must always be on the lookout for the next idea to build more streams of income.  Monetizing your blogs, and websites for residual streams while offering great content to keep the visitors coming is one method, but it is very time intensive and requires that you have a plan of action before starting out.

It is a great idea to learn from those who have already succeeded, but remember that they will not tell you everything that you need to succeed!  Why should they?  More than likely they had to figure it out themselves, why should they just give the formula for their success away?

You need your own formula for success.

A basic business principle is: visitors that are converted into customers = sales and sales = income.

Income is the lifeblood of your business.  Income -(minus) expenses = profit.

Remember that you are running a business and that profit determines your success.  Without profit, you cannot upgrade your computer or pay your ISP, webhost or other necessary business expenses.

To Meet Your Goal of Working at Home Start with a Solid Business Plan!

What do I mean start smart?

Starting any business requires certain planning stages before you can build a presence for yourself on the Internet. You need to know what market you are planning to work in, what the customers desires are and how much it is going to cost you in time and money to succeed.

One of the most important steps that many new business owners forget is Market Research. Without it, your business plan will be lacking and your goals will not achieve the results you desire.

So as you can see from the video above, starting out means knowing something about the business that you plan to run. You need to know how much competition there is and what you can do to earn your share of the market.

If you want your business to succeed, you must run it like a business.

1. Learn about business principles

2. Educate yourself about industry terms

3. Know what your competition is doing

4.Know how much of the market that you want to have for yourself

5 Tips for Your Online Business

                          Building

You want to work from home…but doing what?

Working from home is the goal of thousands of individuals.  The ability to set your own work scheduled, be able to spend more time with family and most importantly…the money you make goes into your pocket!

There are literally hundreds of profitable business models that you can choose from.

Tip #1: Choose something you like doing

If you enjoy advertising, you could consider affiliate marketing.  With very little capital outlay, you make money each time a sale is made from your efforts.

Is writing your cup of tea?  Consider writing your own e-book or even going into business as a copywriter.

Success on the Internet is not something that happens overnight, unless you are very, very lucky.  What ever type of business you choose to pursue, you are going to have to spend a lot of time doing it, so choose something that you are interested in.

Tip #2:  Know your strengths

Be honest with yourself when it comes to answering this question.  If you have no programming skills, then selling custom designed websites is going to be out.  You want to leverage your strengths to make your business successful.

Tip #3: Know your market

You have to know who you are selling to, to advertise effectively.  By targeting your market you make it easier to put together an advertising plan.  Good advertising can result in money in your pocket.

Tip #4: Know your product

Whether your product is digital or physical, you need to know what it is and what it does.  You have to be able to tell your customer how your product will benefit them, if you want to convert visitors into paying customers.

Tip #5: Rinse and Repeat

Don’t put all of your eggs into just one basket.  Once you have successfully, launched your first product, you cannot rest on your laurels.  The path to success is paved with one product after another…

5 Tips for Success

                            Money

Do You Have What it Takes to SUCCEED?

Everyone wants to succeed, to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous.  Fast Cars, Fancy Watches and The Freedom to Live the Way You Please.

Did you ever wonder what it took to get this lifestyle?

Despite, the rumors, money doesn’t grow on trees.  :-)

Tip #1 – Know what success means to YOU

If you want to have success you have to know what it means to you.  What one person sees as success, another finds to be merely average!  Do you want money, recognition or fame?  Only you can answer this question, but once you do, you can start moving along the path to achieving it.

Tip #2 – Establish a Goal

Once you know what success means to you, the next step is to set goals for yourself.  Don’t expect to become a millionaire over-night.  Be realistic and set goals that will lead you to the success that you desire.  A movie star doesn’t start out that way, but by getting parts that move him or her forward, they work their way towards their ultimate goal.

Tip #3 – Make a Plan (And Follow It)

Take your goals and determine how to make them a reality.  If your goal is to be rich, then study those who have already succeeded.  Plan each step that you must take to reach your goals and follow the plan.  This doesn’t mean that you can’t be flexibile, but if your plan calls for you to invest $50 and you only put in $25, your results will be limited by your own actions.

Tip #4 – Believe in Yourself

You have to believe that your goals are possible.  Your actions must convey this belief.  If you know in your bones that you will be a success, then others will feel that belief and propel you ever closer to achieving your goal.

Tip #5 – Be Open to Opportunity

Your plan must be flexible enough to allow for the vagaries of fortune to shine upon you.  You may have planned to reach the third phase of your success in 3–5 years, but an offer comes along that could propel you there in 2.  Don’t limit your own success.  Rather, teach yourself to keep your eyes open to opportunity when it comes knocking!

Do you have a success story?  Comments are welcome!
